Student accident insurance forms are
sent home with students in September.
Purchasing this insurance is option=
al.
Should your child become ill during
school hours, we will do everything to make the child as comfortable as
possible while we attempt to contact you or the emergency contact named by =
you
so that arrangements can be made for his/her pick-up if necessary. Should your child be injured while=
at
school or on a field trip, we will attempt to contact you or the emergency
contact named by you if the injury dictates immediate medical attention.
Information
regarding parents’/guardians’ home and work telephone numbers,
student health concerns, emergency contacts and family makeup may change du=
ring
the school year. It is imperative
that the school receive any such changes as soon as possible.
MEDICINE (PRESCRIPTION) AT SCHOOL
It is the policy of the Peel Distri=
ct
School Board that teachers, teaching assistants, secretaries, lunchroom
supervisors or volunteers should not be involved with the administration of
medication which can be administered before or after sc=
hool If, in the opinion of a
practicing physician, a particular student requires medication during schoo=
l in
order to remain in attendance, a form called Administration of Prescribed
Medication must be completed and on file in the office. This refers to any medication brou=
ght to
school including Epipens, inhalers, Tylenol, etc. Medication must be in the original,
dated prescription container with the student’s name on it along with=
the
dosage/frequency. Other child=
ren
should not have access to the medication.&=

We understand that certain students must keep their inhalers and Epi=
pens
with them due to life-threatening situations. We ask for your child's and your c=
